Indoor Urban Fogging Applications

An indoor insect fogger controls flying and crawling pests across enclosed spaces, and the same cold-ULV machine doubles as an indoor disinfectant fogger for germs on surfaces and in the air — which makes it a practical fit for homes, offices, and other occupied buildings. Where Small-Droplet Fogging Has the Edge

• Enclosed public and private spaces. Flying insects in offices, homes, and public buildings can be controlled with ULV (cold fog) or thermal fog. The treatment is done with the structure closed to public access, and the fog reaches across the whole space evenly — covering far more area than hand-held aerosols can. • Duct treatment. Building ducts can be treated with ULV machines fitted with a flex hose, applying pyrethrum insecticides, smoke deodorizers, or duct sealants into runs that are otherwise hard to reach.
• Flushing agent for crawling insects. ULV machines apply natural pyrethrum as a flushing agent for insects such as cockroaches. • Landfill fly and gnat control. Gnats, flies, and other insects can be controlled at garbage landfills. • Dust suppression. Keeping a dry surface damp reduces the dust it releases, and a ULV machine with a float tank can do this with minimal disruption in a working area, helping protect personnel from harmful dust. Where the dust is asbestos, this is regulated work — OSHA's asbestos standard requires wet methods to control fiber release and prohibits dry cleanup, and abatement must be carried out by trained, licensed workers under the full standard.
• Sewer smoke-testing. Inert thermal fog can be pushed into a sewage system to check that foul-water sewage stays separate from rainwater run-off, and to test new systems. In a correctly installed system the water traps at sinks and faucets keep fog out of the premises, so any unacceptable connection shows up quickly.
• Sewer insect control. Thermal fog and ULV can treat sewers to control disease-vectoring insects such as cockroaches, using a suitable insecticide like natural pyrethrum.
